Well hello everyone and Happiest of Happy New Years! 2023, ready or not, here we come! I hope you are doing well and looking forward to a year of new and exciting adventures. Incidentally, we have one new adventure to tell you about, our first Open House at our new(ish) facility!!
Yes! We moved in 2021, and through all the lockdowns and uncertainty, we decided to not have any form of event, in order to keep everyone safe. Though safety is always our number one concern, we have navigated the last few years in order to make some adjustments to allow for some good times again :).
On Friday, January 13th, from 6pm -9pm we will be holding our open house, and along with our open house will be a fund raising endeavor. We hope to raise money for Guelph’s Hope House. This place just gave me so many feels when I looked into their mission statement. They have even generously offered me a tour of their facility, one of which I am excited to talk about to anyone who wants to hear.
To summarize their mission, Hope House serves vulnerable people in Guelph – the unhoused and housed, the employed and the unemployed, those suffering a new, bewildering setback and those dealing with chronic, more complicated issues of poverty. Can you imagine for some of these people, having their entire livelihood taken away from them from circumstances beyond their control? Can you imagine still, that there is an outlet of incredible human beings working tirelessly to have these people be included, and supported? I’m beyond words. Hope House delivers hope, and they are amazing at it.
Our open house will have food available, socializing with some of our practitioners, some demos, some games, prizes and music and laughter! This day is meant to be a positive light in a world that had so much darkness. It is also a way to provide positive energy and love to everyone who comes by, because you are all so important to us.
So please bring a friend or two, stop by and meet us, greet us, challenge yourself to some of our games and walk home with the lightness in your heart that you came out and made someone’s day, even if it was just for a moment.
Parking is free.
With laughter, love and light, we look forward to seeing some of your smiling happy faces!
